On December 5th, 2015 we began laying the first pieces of wood on an empty plot of land.
In Uruguay, every house has a name... ours is Casa Marané. Our home is minutes away from the Atlantic shoreline so we never nd ourselves too far from inspiration or a good swim.
Inspiration also came to us in the form of the regional artisans, the Charra, whose tradition has been passed down, so now, local crafsmen use the same materials that were available to them centuries ago. Soil, charcoal, sand and ash.
We constructed Casa Marané using eucalyptus. No cement was used - in the spirit of Charra artisanship.
